Budget Impact: Sensex sheds near 840 points, Nifty at 10,760

Budget, live market update, share market tipsA heavy shock has been witnessed in the Indian stock markets after the Finance Minister presented the Union Budget-2018 on Thursday, wherein he brought Long Term Capital Gain under the tax net and fixed a higher fiscal deficit target for the fiscal 2019 which got highly disappointed investors’ sentiment. Market sentiment suffered one more setback after Fitch Ratings today said high debt-burden of the govt constrains India’s rating upgrade.

The Sensex nosedived 839.91 points or 2.34% to a low of 35,066.75 as its biggest one-day fall in 2½ years duration, with all the sectoral indices trading in the negative zone, while the NSE Nifty slumped 256.30 points, or 2.33% to 10,760.60 points at closing hours on Friday.

All the BSE sectoral indices ended lesser with utilities, power and realty sector leading the losses, while Bajaj Auto Ltd, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki and Reliance were among the top losers.

Banking stocks led by Yes Bank, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC LTD and IndusInd Bank suffered losses to a tune of 3.80% percent.

Other losers that dragged the key indices from their significant levels were ONGC, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motocop, Power Grid, Asian Paints, Coal India and Reliance Industries.

Closing Bell- Nifty, Sensex manage another record high; Nifty PSU Bank index tops

money maker research, Todays Gainers, Todays Losers, Market Update, Stock NewsEquity benchmarks closed at new record peaks on Wednesday with the NSE Nifty-50 index settled 2 points or 0.02% up at a fresh record of 11,086. The BSE Sensex rose 22 points or 0.06% to end at a new high of 36,162.00 led by a surge in shares of SBI, HDFC, ITC, TCS, Infosys, HDFC Bank and Yes Bank.

Shares of State Bank of India, GAIL, Tech Mahindra, Adani Ports SEZ, TCS, Lupin, HCL Tech and UPL remained among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index, while Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank and Hindalco settled as the top losers of the day. 

Nifty PSU Bank index gained 3.49% emerging as the major gainer among the sectoral indices, leagued by Nifty IT index, which rose to 1.54%, however, Nifty Metal index cracked 1.72% to settle as the top sectoral loser. Nifty Private Bank, Nifty realty, media and auto were followed on NSE that closed the day in the red. 

Shares of Idea Cellular Ltd tanked near 6.64% to a 1-month low following a sharp fall in its Q3 earnings. The stocks ended at 5.69 percent at Rs 93.70 on NSE.

Nifty ends above 11,050 for the first time, Sensex up 36,100 on IMF growth forecast

equity tips, , Nifty outlook, BTST Call, Today’s Market Strategy, Market updateThe Nifty50 index of NSE continued its upward rally for the fifth successive session and made a new lifetime peak of 11,092 today on strong earnings results. Investors’ Sentiment also boosted as the International Monetary Fund announced India would regain the title as the world’s fastest growing economy in 2018-19.

The NSE Nifty-50 index Nifty closed up by 117.50 points at 11,083.70 while the BSE index Sensex ended higher by 341.97 points at 36,139.98.

Bank Nifty made a fresh lifetime peak of 27,422 and witnessed the highest daily close beyond 27,350 marks. Bank Nifty gained 1.29 percent and was the outperformer in Tuesday’s trade. PNB and Bank of Baroda were the star performers gaining 5.57 percent and 5.07 percent respectively.

Nifty futures closed in the positive with a gain of 1.07% at 11,085. Bharat Financial, ONGC, DishTV, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Axis Bank, Infosys, Hindalco, Bank of Baroda, ITC and Petronet LNG witnessed long buildup, while short buildup were seen in Zee Entertainment, Bharti Infratel, Ambuja Cement, Concor, Apollo Hospital, Eicher Motors and Cadila Healthcare.
